Join us for a big annual community tree planting day in 2026!
On the first Saturday of each month, we welcome you to the farm to get involved with what’s going on on the land and for seasonal celebrations, nature-based taster-sessions and mini-workshops. It’s a wonderful chance to see what’s been happening on the farm, learn new skills and enjoy a relaxing, fun day with like-minded company!
In February, the first Community Farm day of 2026, we’ll be kicking off the year in one of the most positive, regenerative and enjoyable ways we can think of - planting trees! In 2024, we planted an 80-tree Community Apple and Pear Orchard. Last year, we planted thousands of native saplings - oaks, alders, birch, beech and more - and in 2026, we are excited to be planting a Community nut orchard! With your help, we’ve got lots of walnut, cobnut and sweet chestnut trees to plant - to secure a high-protein source of nutritious food for all of us long into the future! You can also learn how to prune apple trees with our very own Chloe!
As ever, we’ll be having a bring-and-share lunch, so please do bring a dish for the lunch table on the Saturday. Vegan-friendly dishes are encouraged to ensure that the spread suits everybody! We’ll have lunch around 12.30pm. We’ll provide refreshments through the day and everything else you might need, including mugs, plates and cutlery. Waterproofs and sturdy footwear is strongly recommended!
In the afternoon, thanks to new funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we will welcome agroforestry expert Tom Clare to give a talk about ‘Trees on Farms’ and all the ways it can benefit the land, wildlife, animals and us as humans. Meanwhile Luisa, our Little Stewards coordinator, will be leading some fun Gwyl y Golau themed activities for children to mark the coming of Spring.
And that’s not all! After a little more tree planting - we’ll head into the Community Orchard to bless the apple trees and welcome the Spring in the old way, before enjoying a fire show and gathering around a big fire! More info not he schedule below…
