Little Stewards: Tending the Land
9.30-12
In this 2.5 h session, our Little Stewards tend to their own designated garden space. They harvest produce, dig beds, plant seeds, and learn to truly care for the land.
We begin each session with a sharing circle, where every child is given space to be heard by the group. This is followed by a seasonal story or song, to help us truly attune to the natural world around us.Through sociocratic decision-making, the children choose what needs to be prioritised in the garden that day, guided gently by the facilitators’ knowledge.
Once the work is complete, the harvesting begins. Wild foods, vegetables, herbs — all gathered and transformed into a communal meal after. Each session includes space for recipe creation, experimentation, and a growing sense of food autonomy.
We always close with a gratitude ritual, honouring the land, the labour, and one another.
12-1 & 3-4pm
While all our sessions are playful in itself, it is important to offer spaces completely free from any structure. In this 1h-window, children are free to explore the space in their own way. With two facilitators always present, they can invent games, spin stories, build, climb, rest, or simply daydream in the hammocks.
Facilitators are there to help when needed, to gently initiate play when children seem lost or left out, and to lovingly hold the group’s code of conduct, always with compassion, curiosity and care.
Whether in our “Rainy Day Little Stewards Shed”, our main “Little Stewards site” or our “Woodland Quarters”, there are plenty of amazing play spaces around.

Little Stewards: Venturing out
1-3pm
This session is all about widening our gaze — stepping beyond the garden into the living world around us.
We may learn about the water cycle, following the meandering stream to the sea, we may lay on our bellies and study the soil using simple permaculture techniques or head to the beach with bags and grabbers to care for the land through gentle action.
We begin with a story or a song — sometimes at our base, sometimes as we walk — setting the tone for curiosity and wonder.
Overall we are circling out with our awareness into the wider web of life and communities
And yes of course! - there will be plenty of games along the way.

A Journey Through Music, Mindfulness, Art & Imagination
After a day of outward exploration, this final session brings the children gently back to themselves.
Whether they’re arriving straight from the busy world of school, or have been with us all day long, every child is invited into a slower rhythm — a soft space to pause, to feel, to breathe.
Through the modes of music, yoga, dance, drama, and visual art, we explore big and tender themes like self-love, emotional literacy, compassion, nature, relationships, and more. Some sessions are gentle and quiet; others full of wild expression. All are held in a space of warmth and acceptance.
We close with a simple gratitude ritual, giving thanks for the day, for the land, and for one another — before heading home, hearts full and feet grounded.
