Elder Stewards
Explore a meaningful alternative for young people ready to step beyond the ordinary and into hands-on, land-based learning. Here, teens are invited to imagine, design, and regenerate the world around them, shaping both the landscape and their own futures through creativity, collaboration, and holistic thinking.
Starting in May | Every last Saturday of the month | 10:00am – 1:30pm
(Light lunch from the land included)
Step into a deeper relationship with land, community, and self through our Elder Stewards program — a rich, hands-on monthly permaculture journey designed especially for young people aged 12–17.
Held on the last Saturday of each month from 10:00am to 1:30pm, these immersive three-and-a-half-hour gatherings offer teens the opportunity to explore the foundations of permaculture design alongside emotional intelligence, regenerative farming, and holistic land stewardship. Each session combines practical outdoor learning with reflective and creative activities, encouraging participants to think critically, collaborate meaningfully, and connect deeply with the living systems around them.
Over six monthly gatherings, participants will work together to design a holistic permaculture plan for a chosen site on the farm. Through observation, mapping, soil work, planting, and systems thinking, they will learn how to read the landscape, understand natural patterns, and design in ways that support biodiversity, resilience, and long-term abundance. The program nurtures both practical skills and inner development — building confidence, communication, leadership, and a strong sense of care for the Earth and one another.
Rooted in the same spirit as our Little Stewards program, Elder Stewards supports young people at a pivotal stage of growth — empowering them to imagine and actively design thriving, regenerative futures. It is an invitation to step into responsibility, creativity, and purpose as the next generation of caretakers.
Age Group: 12–17 years
