Community Farm Day - June 2025

  • Parc yr Arglwydd | Lords Park farm Llansteffan Wales, SA33 5LT United Kingdom (map)

One Saturday of every month, we welcome you to the farm to get involved with what’s going on on the land and for seasonal celebrations, nature-based taster-sessions and mini-workshops. It’s a wonderful chance to see what’s been happening on the farm, learn new skills and enjoy a relaxing, fun day with like-minded company!

This month we’ve got some a really good one planned for you! As well as a morning of communal farm activities - which is more than likely to include planting at this time of year and may involve some cob pizza-oven building - we’ve got some really cool talks and workshops planned. At 9.45am, our founder, Abel, will be offering a talk titled ‘Food with the Farmers’ Face On It: What Community Supported Agriculture is all about’ delving into why it is the right model for us, and why it’s about far more than just a veg box scheme. And in the afternoon, our newest director and geologist Morgan Jones will join artist Karn John for this extra special offering:

The Ground Beneath Our Feet

Come and explore Lord Park Farm with geologist, Morgan Jones and land-based artist, Karn John, who will introduce you to the geology of Glasbren through the lenses of science and art.

Together we’ll learn about the deep-time history of the area, including continents colliding, huge volcanoes and massive underwater landslides, and explore how the rocks beneath our feet shaped the landscape, livelihoods and culture of this part of Wales. We’ll then experiment with making earth-pigment paint from respectfully gathered materials.

As ever, we’ll be having a bring-and-share lunch, so please do bring a dish for the lunch table on the Saturday. Vegan-friendly dishes are encouraged to ensure that the spread suits everybody! We’ll have lunch around 1.00pm. We’ll provide refreshments through the day and everything else you might need, including mugs, plates and cutlery. Waterproofs and sturdy footwear is strongly recommended!

Let us know you’re coming on the button below!

*To get the best from the day, we really do recommend trying to arrive on time if you can!
